Job summary

Technica LLC seeks a Fuel Distribution System Operator for a government contract at White Sands Missile Range, NM. This full-time field role requires operating heavy fuel tankers, towing fuel pods, and performing fueling/defueling of aircraft and equipment across remote ranges.

You will record fuel transactions, ensure proper safety procedures, and comply with MIL-STD-3004, DD Form 1348, and related forms. Strong driving history and clearance eligibility are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have 1–2 years' experience operating heavy fuel tankers or military fuel distribution vehicles.
• Valid Class A CDL with Tank Vehicle and HazMat endorsements.
• Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate and ongoing medical qualification.
• Driving record meets 49 CFR 391 standards.
• Able to read, write and speak English.
• Willing to work outdoors in extreme New Mexico desert conditions.
• U.S. citizen or permanent resident for CAC/NACI eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Operates government-furnished fuel tankers and trailers to haul and dispense MOGAS, diesel, and aviation fuel.
• Tows trailer-mounted fuel pods to generators and field locations; drives on highways and desert roads.
• Performs fueling and defueling of aircraft, generators, and heavy equipment at designated locations; records fuel data and ensures proper grounding and bonding.
• Maintains safety through temperature readings, sampling per MIL-STD-3004, and daily fuel quality checks; reports abnormalities to supervision.
• Delivers and sets up portable storage for field operations; ensures compliance with grounding, safety distances, and DOT regulations.
• Maintains trip tickets, mileage, and signatures; completes required forms (DD 1348, DA 3643) for fuel accountability.
• Performs pre-trip/post-trip inspections and adheres to FMCSA hours-of-service limits; participates in routine maintenance checks.
