Job summary

Surf Internet is seeking a Tier 1 Service Delivery Technician to install FTTH services and assist with basic home connectivity support. This frontline role involves working with residential customers, testing fiber signals, and helping optimize home Wi-Fi networks.

You will carry equipment, climb ladders, and travel across Michigan, Indiana, and Illinois. The position requires strong communication, endurance, and the ability to work independently in varied weather conditions while ensuring

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to lift and maneuver objects 75+ lbs regularly.
• Willingness to travel up to 100% of the time across the service region.

Responsibilities

• Perform FTTH fiber installations and some service repair calls at residential locations.
• Conduct fiber signal performance testing using a signal meter and test cord.
• Execute Wi-Fi signal mapping and extension recommendations for mesh networks (Eero placements).
• Troubleshoot basic fiber drop issues and connectivity problems.
• Understand and apply basic electronics, connectivity principles, and diagnostic procedures.
