Job summary

ArborMetrics is seeking a Contract Forester/Utility Forester to support vegetation management for utility corridors. The role involves field work, risk assessments, and coordination with landowners and agencies to ensure safe, compliant operations.

Ideal candidates bring field experience in electric utility vegetation work, strong tree identification, and GIS/MS Office skills. The position emphasizes safety, independence, and stakeholder engagement in outdoor environments.

Qualifications

• Experience in electric utility vegetation management in the field.
• Supervisory experience as crew foreman is preferred.
• Knowledge of tree identification is required.
• Proficiency with GIS and Microsoft Office; familiarity with iPhone.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Patrol Preparation: Organize records, maps, and paperwork; review work sites for habitats.
• Field Patrol Duties: Safely patrol energy corridors; prune, remove, or protect vegetation per standards.
• Landowner & Stakeholder Engagement: Identify boundaries; communicate work plans with landowners/agencies.
• Vegetation Management & Compliance: Recommend sustainable strategies; audit contractor work for compliance.
• Coordination & Safety: Coordinate non-routine work; follow safety protocols and report hazards.
• Additional Responsibilities: Participate in storm/emergency response; perform other duties.
