Job summary

Forest Resource Consultants, Inc. in Macon, Georgia is seeking a Forest Technician to support forest management operations across Georgia. The role involves timber inventory, sales assistance, field data collection, and ensuring compliance with BMPs and contract requirements.

The candidate should enjoy outdoor work, be self-motivated, and able to work independently with limited supervision. Training will be provided for field skills; prior forestry experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Associate degree or higher in forestry, forest technology, natural resources, or related field preferred.
• Comfortable working independently outdoors for extended periods in varying weather and terrain.
• Proficiency with basic computer applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Travel primarily throughout central Georgia and occasionally elsewhere in the southeastern United States to support forest management operations.
• Report to Macon office for project planning, meetings, training, and other business needs.
• Conduct timber inventory sampling using established cruise specifications and procedures.
• Assist with timber sale preparation, including marking boundaries and SMZs as required.
• Monitor contract operations and scheduled forest management activities for compliance.
