Job summary

Forest Resource Consultants, Inc. in Quitman, Mississippi is seeking a Forest Technician to support forest management operations across central Mississippi. The role involves timber inventory, sales support, GPS/GIS data collection, and field inspections under supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher preferred.
• One to three years forestry experience preferred but not required; training provided.
• Ability to work independently outdoors in varying weather and terrain.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Travel throughout central Mississippi to support forest management operations.
• Conduct timber inventory sampling using cruise specifications.
• Assist with timber sale preparation and boundary marking.
• Monitor contract operations for progress and compliance.
• Inspect field activities for BMPs, regulations, and client objectives.
• Collect GPS data and observe stand conditions and boundaries.
• Support special projects and communicate field observations to FRC staff.
• Promote a positive image of FRC with clients and landowners.
