Job summary

Atlas Field Services is seeking a Contract Forester to join our team as a full-time employee, with roles available statewide in Georgia. The candidate will perform vegetation management for utility-related projects and interact with landowners to explain work.

Ideal applicants have a forestry background, ISA Arborist credentials, and experience in field forester duties, safety, and coordinating with contractors and clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Forestry or related field required.
• ISA Certified Arborist or Natural Sciences BS Degree.
• At least 3 years’ experience as an inventory arborist/design arborist/quality arborist.
• 1 year of utility line clearance or utility work planning experience.
• Fully qualified to relieve a client's arborist.
• Proficient in OM and CM work processes and WMS processes.
• Basic GPS/GIS understanding.

Responsibilities

• Inspect rights-of-way to assess vegetation conditions and determine maintenance needs.
• Utilize client systems and applications.
• Assist with bid package maps and work manifests.
• Research easements and land rights for widths and restrictions.
• Meet with landowners to explain vegetation work.
• Mark works in the field as required.
• Respond to public concerns about the work.
• Assist in development of public relations materials.
• Respond to contractor questions on work specs.
• Inspect contractor work for compliance with specs.
• Assist in managing contractors during storm restoration operations.
• Support special utility projects.
