Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts in Conway, SC, seeks a Foreperson to coordinate crews and equipment to complete vegetation management projects per contract. The role emphasizes safety, task delegation, and efficient on-site operations.

You will direct daily activities, supervise crew performance, and communicate with property owners to obtain access and ensure adherence to job specifications. A high school diploma and relevant field experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in electric utility vegetation management, construction, logging, landscaping, mechanical, or military industries preferred
• Must be able to meet and demonstrate qualifications of all positions on a crew
• Must be able to follow verbal or written directives
• Must be able to delegate work and take accountability for the performance of a crew
• Must be able to understand drawings and symbols representing lines, voltages, line equipment, etc.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate crew members, equipment, tools, and supplies to complete jobs per contract specifications
• Enforce safe practices and rules on site
• Direct crew members and manage equipment daily
• Assign tasks to crew members and supervise performance
• Plan and execute work in a safe and professional manner
• Organize job assignments to maximize efficiency
• Communicate with property owners to obtain access and discuss work details
• Ensure PPE usage and safe practices
• Trim or remove trees using ladders, lifts, or ground methods
• Spray stumps and brush to prevent regrowth
• Load/unload trucks with logs and debris; assist chipper operations
• Keep records of time, equipment, and materials used
• Perform daily truck inspections and job briefings
• Maintain tools, equipment, and supplies; report needs to supervisor
• Respond to emergencies by eliminating hazards
• Perform storm-work duties as needed
• Ensure compliance with safety and job specifications

Education

High School diploma or education equivalent preferred
