Job summary

Cannon Companies is seeking a hands-on OSP Telecommunications Foreman to lead field crews on fiber optic construction, installation, maintenance, and repair projects. You will direct activities in underground conduits, manholes, and aerial routes, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in OSP telecom construction, with leadership experience and a strong grasp of fiber installation methods.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of hands-on OSP telecommunications construction experience.
Knowledgeable in outside plant fiber optic construction and conduit systems.
Experience with mandrel testing, fiber optic pulling/blowing, and manhole work.
3–5+ years preferred; 1–2+ years leadership/foreman experience preferred.
Strong ability to read construction drawings, utility maps, and splice documentation.
Valid driver's license; CDL required.
OSHA regulations knowledge and safe work practices.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather; strong leadership and communication.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and schedule labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors for projects.
Lead crews in underground and aerial telecommunications construction activities.
Direct fiber optic cable placement, testing, and restoration work.
Oversee conduit installation and underground utility construction.
Set up and operate cable pulling and fiber installation equipment.
Work in manholes and underground systems following safety protocols.
Review drawings and project specifications; ensure quality and standards.
Maintain project documentation and communications with stakeholders.
Train and mentor crew members on safety and workmanship.
