Job summary

Lumos Fiber is seeking an OSP Construction Project Engineer to lead multiple fiber builds across the market, from readiness to closeout. You will manage contractor performance, track progress, and ensure safety, quality, and budget adherence.

In this role you will coordinate permitting, materials, utilities, and field dependencies, while partnering with Engineering, Operations, Permitting, and Supply Chain to improve how Lumos plans, builds, and scales fiber deployment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in OSP construction, telecom engineering, or related field operations.
• Knowledge of aerial, underground, and buried fiber construction; OSHA & NESC requirements.
• Experience managing contractors and multiple active projects.
• Strong PM, problem-solving, communication, and relationship-building skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Own multiple OSP builds across the market from construction readiness through closeout.
• Set clear expectations for contractors and subcontractors, holding teams accountable for safety, quality, schedule, and budget.
• Track production, schedules, costs, risks, and field progress, and keep stakeholders informed with clear, timely updates.
• Inspect active jobsites and ensure work meets OSHA, NESC, Lumos, and applicable construction standards.
• Coordinate permitting, materials, utilities, municipalities, and other field dependencies that keep construction moving.
• Resolve field roadblocks and community concerns quickly, professionally, and with sound judgment.
• Partner across Engineering, Operations, Permitting, and Supply Chain to improve how Lumos plans, builds, and scales.
