Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking a Security Installer I to join our field team.

Under supervision, you will perform programming, commissioning, basic troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance on fire and security systems, delivering reliable solutions and documenting work at the job site. This hands-on role blends technical work with customer interaction, requiring attention to detail, safe practices, and compliance with local and national codes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills to represent the company to customers and other outside contacts.
• Basic computer skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to explain technical information to non-technical people.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned programming, commissioning, basic troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of fire and security systems in line with contract obligations.
• Assist experienced personnel with system problem resolution, including troubleshooting the system and supporting others with practical solutions.
• Prepare required commissioning documentation and provide accurate information for as-built documentation.
• Follow safety standards and local and national codes with a high degree of regard for employee and subcontractor safety.
• Communicate with the customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site, maintaining proactive and professional interaction throughout the job.
• Support project execution against plan and report problems or changes to the supervisor or management as needed.
• Complete paperwork and on-site documentation accurately and on time.
• Perform self-study through reading, research, and practice to build technical proficiency on required products and applications.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
