Job summary

Johnson Controls International plc. in Indianapolis is seeking a Commercial Installer to work onsite with commercial customers, installing and programming Integrated Security fire and security systems, and dismantling/reconstructing equipment as needed.

You will follow wiring diagrams, test systems, read blueprints, coordinate with local authorities, and may manage larger installation teams while mentoring junior installers.

Qualifications

• Union membership willingness required.
• HS diploma or GED.
• Technical school training is a plus.
• 3+ years electrical/electronic equipment experience with demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Ability to operate fleet vehicle in a safe manner at all times.
• Ability to communicate and provide excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Install and program security systems onsite with customers.
• Dismantle and reconstruct equipment as required.
• Follow wiring diagrams and hookup procedures.
• Test system operation and verify service.
• Coordinate with police/fire departments and notify emergency contacts.
• May lead installation teams on large projects.
• Coach and mentor junior installers.
• Prepare estimates per supervisor instructions.
• Verify schedules with customers prior to install.
