Job summary

BurnBot, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Fire Module Leader to help lead fire/field crews executing wildfire, prescribed fire, UAS and related fire operations. This hands-on role emphasizes safety, work quality, productivity, equipment readiness, and regulatory compliance.

Preference is given to candidates based out of Medford, OR or Placerville, CA, but all locations are considered. The role is non-supervisory, non-exempt, with an hourly rate of $36-$43; placement depends on experience and

Qualifications

• Ability to travel extensively (up to 75%).
• NWCG ENGB or CRWB qualification is required/preferred.
• Demonstrated field safety and regulatory compliance knowledge.
• Physical ability for demanding outdoor work (lifting up to 50 lbs, long days).

Responsibilities

• In the absence of the Fire Module Leader, directs activities of the Fire Module Crewmembers (3) in daily field activities conducted in support of Fire Program projects (prescribed fire, wildfire, RX2 operations, DSI, UAS flights, and others).
• Assists with tasks, sequencing of work, and crew pacing to meet safety, quality, and productivity expectations
• Provide real-time coaching, feedback, and corrective direction as needed to crewmembers
• Assists in ensuring work is executed according to project scope, burn plans, wildfire mobilization standard operating procedures, and company standards
• Identify hazards and help to manage risk. Exercise stop-work authority when conditions warrant.
• Maintain proficiency in engine, RX2 machine, chainsaw, DSI, UAV, heavy equipment and other assigned operations within training and qualifications.
• Ensure equipment, tools, and vehicles are staged, maintained, and used correctly; communicate equipment needs, failures, and logistical issues to the Fire Module Leader, Fire Operations Specialist or Fire Staff
