Job summary

BurnBot, Inc. is seeking a Fire Module Leader to oversee field crews in wildfire, prescribed fire, UAS, DSI and related operations. This hands-on role ensures safety, fuel treatment execution, equipment readiness and regulatory compliance across the BurnBot Fire Program.

Preferred location will be Medford, OR or Placerville, CA hubs, but candidates will be considered from other locations. The role is non-exempt with an hourly rate of $45-$56, dependent on experience and certifications.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in wildland fire, fuels mitigation, vegetation management, or prescribed fire operations.
• Demonstrated experience leading crews in field operations.
• Strong working knowledge of field safety practices and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise the Lead Fire Module Crewmember and Fire Module Crewmembers in daily field activities.
• Assign tasks, sequence work, and manage crew pacing to meet safety, quality and productivity goals.
• Provide real-time coaching, feedback and corrective direction as needed.
• Ensure work adheres to project scope, burn plans, SOPs and company standards.
• Identify hazards, manage risk, and exercise stop-work authority when needed.
• Maintain proficiency with engine, RX2, chainsaw, DSI, UAV and other ops.
• Ensure equipment and vehicles are staged, maintained and used correctly; report needs to Fire Operations Specialist.
• Travel as required and support cross-vertical projects.
