Job summary

Metronet in Round Lake, IL is seeking a Fiber Technician to perform installations, service changes, and troubleshooting for residential and business customers. You will diagnose issues from the fiber terminal to the customer premises equipment and educate customers on Metronet products and services.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED.
Experience with a telecom / fiber company preferred but not required.
Must be physically able to kneel or stand for long periods.
Able to work in attics, crawl spaces, and adverse weather.
Capable of climbing ladders up to 25 feet with safety gear.
Able to lift and carry loads up to 75 lbs including ladders.
Proficient with basic hand tools and equipment with training.
Operate and maintain company vehicle safely and professionally.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Willingness to work in a team and independently.
Authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

Install and troubleshoot Metronet services from the terminal to customer premises equipment.
Provide in-depth customer education on Metronet products and services.
Earn commissions by explaining Metronet services to customers.
Maintain professionalism with customers and colleagues.
Work toward meeting key performance metrics.
Perform other duties as required including after-hours on-call rotation.
