Job summary

Metronet in Bloomington, IL is hiring a Fiber Technician to install and service high-speed fiber internet for residential and business customers. You will perform installations, disconnects, and service changes, troubleshoot from the fiber terminal to customer equipment, and educate customers on Metronet products while upholding safety standards.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, willingness to work overtime and travel for training, and the ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• telecom/fiber experience preferred but not required.
• Physically able to work kneeling or standing for long periods.
• Able to work in attics, crawl spaces, and in adverse weather conditions.
• Able to lift up to 75 lbs including ladder.
• Must haveValid driver’s license/satisfactory driving record.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Install and troubleshoot Metronet services from the terminal to Customer Premises Equipment (CPE).
• Provide in-depth customer education on Metronet products and services.
• Earn commissions by explaining Metronet services and products to customers.
• Maintain professionalism with customers and associates.
• Work toward meeting key performance metrics.
• Perform other job-related duties as requested.
