Job summary

Uniti Group Inc., through its Kinetic unit, seeks a line worker for its construction and engineering team. You will install, repair, and maintain poles, cables, and conduits, and run fiber optic and copper lines in aerial and underground infrastructure.

Travel up to 50% and overtime are required, with safety as a priority. The role emphasizes reading blueprints, following design engineers’ instructions, and performing field notes and inspections in various weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Ability to use construction equipment such as digger derricks and bucket trucks.
• Pole climbing certification.
• Ability to lift/push/pull up to 75 pounds.
• Works in all weather conditions year-round.
• Willing to work on-call, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass DOT pre-hire.
• CDL required post-hire.
• Ability to travel up to 50%.
• Exceptional time-management and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, maintain poles; use test equipment and read blueprints.
• Install aerial cables and inspect lines to locate faults.
• Set up service for customers by testing and adjusting equipment.
• Access areas to string lines from poles using bucket trucks or climbing.
• String cables between structures and pull with proper tension.
• Dig trenches and lay underground cables.
• Follow engineering instructions and safety procedures.
• Prepare engineering field notes.
• Interpret maps and field records for telecom facilities.
• Participate in permit and construction processes.
• Repair route issues and perform hand hole cleanup.
• Fill and tamp holes with cement and tamping devices.
