Job summary

Frontline Wildfire Defense, a leader in wildfire defense systems, seeks a Solutions Engineer to support Sales, Installation Ops, and Design with permitting and water-system feasibility.

You will evaluate water availability, hydraulics, and regulatory requirements, travel to field sites, and collaborate across teams to ensure buildable, compliant sprinkler designs.

This hybrid, field-facing role requires clear client communication and hands-on problem solving on complex projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 4-7+ years of experience in hydraulic engineering, plumbing design, or fire protection systems.
• Experience with permitting processes, municipal codes, or regulatory approvals (CA experience preferred).
• Strong understanding of hydraulics and water distribution systems.
• Hybrid role with frequent field visits (2–4 days a week).
• Excellent communication skills to interface with clients and authorities.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical evaluation process to enable Sales, Design, and Installation Ops to close deals with confidence.
• Collaborate with the Senior Solutions Engineer on complex projects and lead mid-complexity evaluations.
• Provide design guidance on system layout and placement for feasible field implementations.
• Evaluate project feasibility focusing on water supply, pressure, and permitting requirements.
• Travel to job sites across Southern California as needed.
• Interface with clients and authorities to obtain approvals and clarify technical considerations.
