Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Plain seeks a Facilities Maintenance Technician II to diagnose, repair, and maintain 22 club locations across Eastern North Carolina. This hands-on role blends field work with vendor coordination and project support, requiring independent work and strong documentation.

The role is field-heavy (about 70%) with travel across a nine-county footprint; safety, OSHA compliance, and clear communication with facilities leadership are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years hands-on facilities maintenance experience in a multi-site, commercial, or institutional setting.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of at least three trades (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, general building systems).
• Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, ladders, and basic diagnostic equipment.
• Strong judgment about when to act, escalate, or engage a licensed vendor.
• Valid North Carolina driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve issues across multiple trades; recommend repair-versus-replace options.
• Travel regularly across a nine-county footprint; perform on-site assessments and repairs.
• Coordinate with licensed vendors, solicit quotes, and verify work meets scope before payment.
• Support capital projects by coordinating timing, materials, and vendor schedules.
• Understand differences between BGCCP-owned and rented sites and manage accordingly.
• Own and document work orders from assessment to completion in MaintainX.
• Perform preventive maintenance and safety inspections per OSHA standards.
• Coordinate procurement of materials, tools, and equipment; maintain inventory awareness.
• Take on special assignments and assist with additional duties as needed.]
• Onboarding and safety compliance duties as required.
