Job summary

Clear Destination Inc. is seeking a field fabrication technician to support in-house plastic fabrication and on-site installations across New England. You will read drawings and job specs, perform PVC/CPVC/PP/PVDF and metal welding, and assist with in-field repairs while traveling to customer sites.

The role requires reading technical documents, strong mechanical skills, and the ability to work with hazardous materials. Weekend/overnight flexibility and safety compliance are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience working in industrial or process environments.
• Hands-on knowledge in one or more of the following areas: chemical process piping, industrial electrical systems, metal welding and fabrication – TIG/MIG, plastic welding and fabrication, industrial water or wastewater treatment systems.
• Ability to read and follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Basic computer and writing skills for job reporting and communication.
• Ability to read and understand drawings and technical documents.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overnight jobs.
• Willingness and ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Learn and assist with daily in-house plastic fabrication.
• Read and work from drawings, schematics, and job specs.
• Perform metal and plastic fabrication and welding (PVC/CPVC/PP/PVDF; stainless and carbon steel).
• Assist with in-field plastic repairs and installation.
• Handle materials with or near hazardous chemicals.
• Troubleshoot equipment and system issues.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Travel to customer sites across New England.
• Maintain tools and keep a clean, safe job site.
