Responsibilities

  • Assist weld preparation and fit-up as required by project scope.
  • Inspect components for accuracy and quality before shipment or install.
  • Keep work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with welders and supervisors to meet production schedules.
  • Identify material shortages or equipment issues and report promptly.
  • Move and handle materials using proper lifting methods.

Job description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented professional to join our team in a fabrication role focused on producing, assembling, and preparing piping systems for installation. This position plays an important part in ensuring high-quality workmanship, accurate fit-up, and safe operations across a variety of projects. The ideal candidate takes pride in precision, communicates effectively, and works well as part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret drawings, isometrics, blueprints, and fabrication plans to determine required pipe dimensions and assembly methods.
  • Measure, cut, bevel, fit, and assemble piping components according to project specifications.
  • Use fabrication tools and equipment safely and effectively, including saws, grinders, torches, and measuring instruments.
  • Perform tack welding preparation and support fit-up activities as required by the project scope.
  • Inspect fabricated components for accuracy, alignment, and quality before installation or shipment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all company and site safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with welders, supervisors, and other team members to meet production schedules and project deadlines.
  • Identify and report material shortages, equipment issues, or quality concerns promptly.
  • Handle and move materials using appropriate lifting methods and equipment.
  • Support additional fabrication and shop tasks as needed.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in pipe fabrication, metal fabrication, or a related industrial trade is preferred.
  • Ability to read and work from technical drawings, measurements, and fabrication documentation.
  • Strong math and measuring skills with attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with fabrication tools, equipment, and basic shop practices.
  • Ability to follow safety standards and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Physical ability to lift, move, and work with materials in a fabrication setting.
  • Willingness to learn, take direction, and adapt to changing project needs.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in industrial, commercial, or mechanical piping environments.
  • Knowledge of pipe fitting, layout, and fabrication techniques.
  • Exposure to welding processes or support of weld preparation activities.
  • Experience working with carbon steel, stainless steel, or other common piping materials.
Work Environment
  • Work is typically performed in a fabrication shop or industrial setting.
  • May require standing, bending, lifting, and handling materials throughout the shift.
  • Use of personal protective equipment and adherence to safety protocols is required.
  • May involve occasional overtime or schedule adjustments based on project demands.
