Job summary

Flow-Control-Group in Lincoln, RI is seeking a full-time technician to learn and assist with in-house plastic fabrication and field repairs. You will read drawings and job specs, fabricate and weld metals and plastics, and travel to customer sites throughout New England.

The role requires hands-on experience in industrial environments, ability to read technical documents, and a team-oriented approach. Weekend/holiday work may be required; a valid driver's license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial or process environments.
• Hands-on knowledge in chemical process piping, industrial electrical systems, welding and fabrication.
• Ability to read and follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Basic computer and writing skills for job reporting and communication.
• Ability to read and understand drawings and technical documents.
• Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overnight jobs.
• Preferred: OSHA or safety certifications.

Requirements:

• Experience working in industrial or process environments

• Metal welding and fabrication – TIG/MIG
• Plastic welding and fabrication
• Industrial water or wastewater treatment systems
• Ability to read and follow instructions and work as part of a team
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Basic computer and writing skills for job reporting and communication
• Ability to read and understand drawings and technical documents
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overnight jobs.
• Willingness and ability to meet deadlines.

Additional but not required

• Trade school, certifications, or formal training in welding, electrical, or plumbing
• OSHA or other safety certifications

Physical Requirements

• This is a full-time position. Days and hours of the week are Monday – Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
• Ability to lift, carry, and handle tools, materials, and equipment approx.. 60 lbs.
• Comfortable working in industrial environments, including standing, climbing, working flat rooftops, and confined spaces
• This job operates in a service shop environment both on company and customer site locations. This role routinely uses hand and power tools as well as office equipment such as laptop computers, and smartphones.
• Must pass standard drug screening and background check

Travel

• Travel will be local within New England

Required License and certifications

• Demonstrated mechanical work experience service-based organization preferred.
• Associate degree, technical certification, or post-secondary certificate in related discipline is preferred.
• Must have a valid, unexpired driver’s license.
• Good driving record.
