Requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, health sciences, occupational health and safety, or closely related field.
Three years related work experience showing increasing independence as a practicing environmental, health and safety professional.
Demonstrated knowledge of environmental, health, and safety principles, practices, regulations, and requirements.
Must demonstrate ability to present ideas and concepts orally and in writing to communicate technical information to diverse audiences.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Professional experience demonstrating ability to lead projects with minimal supervision.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Knowledge of industrial and occupational safety/health programs; laws, rules and regulations; training; and data analysis.
Broad knowledge of mechanical systems and test equipment.

Identify hazards, evaluate exposures, and develop controls; prepare training materials.
Prepare and present briefings, toolboxes, classes and seminars on environmental, health and safety topics; ensure compliance with DOE/OSHA standards.
Conduct environmental, health and safety inspections and track corrective actions; review projects and work planning.
Operate equipment to inspect, test, monitor and measure environmental and safety hazards.
Field locations may include chemical labs, construction sites, and areas with hazardous materials.
Act as technical resource to recommend safety reviews, industrial hygiene monitoring, and waste management oversight.
