Job summary

Pedernales Electric Cooperative is hiring a heavy equipment operator to maintain and operate utility project equipment. The role requires a Texas CDL and experience in digging operations, pole-setting, and line maintenance.

The position involves transporting materials, logging hours, and supporting line crews. It offers a base pay plus KPI bonuses and a bi-weekly salary structure for exempt employees.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Three years of heavy equipment training and related work experience.
• Valid Texas Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain and service equipment and vehicles as assigned.
• Transport equipment and material to and from job sites.
• Utilize proper equipment to perform duties such as pole-setting, hole-digging, tree-trimming and clearing rights of way.
• Assist line crews with construction, maintenance and servicing of lines, poles, and cross- arms.
• Load and unload materials.
• Maintain hour and travel logs.
• Stay abreast of advances in technology.
• Contact water departments, gas companies for location of lines.
• Manage the work for digging operations.
• Operate PEC vehicle(s) for business purposes per PEC policies.
