Job summary

HPC Industrial, a Clean Harbors company, is seeking an Environmental Traveling Technician I in Ashland, KY. This 100% travel position focuses on hazardous waste cleanup, site remediation and equipment decontamination.

No prior experience is required; candidates must be willing to travel extensively and work while on-call. Responsibilities include safety-first field tasks, operating various equipment, handling hazardous materials, and completing required paperwork.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency is required.
• Must complete confined space entry (CSE) and 40 Hour OSHA Training.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Willing to travel, work weekends, and wear a pager.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Health and Safety as the top priority by following policies and safe work practices.
• Engage in strenuous physical labor including lifting, pulling and pushing heavy objects.
• Operate light and heavy equipment (pumps, vacuum, generators, etc.).
• Perform emergency response activities including chemical and water spills and decontamination.
• Complete associated paperwork (daily worksheets, inspections, permits).
• Be on-call 24/7 and arrange coverage for shifts as needed.
• Inspect vehicles and equipment and report any mechanical issues.
• Wear and correctly use PPE (Levels A–E) during tasks.
• May direct Environmental Technician I/II and assist in field sampling.
