Job summary

Apex Companies is seeking an Environmental Scientist to join our team in Manassas, VA. This hands-on, field-focused role emphasizes field work, field data collection, and supporting diverse environmental projects including groundwater monitoring and remediation systems.

Approximately 80% of the work is in the field with the remainder in project documentation, data evaluation, and related technical tasks. Travel across Northern and Central Virginia is expected, with some overnight stays.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related environmental field.
• Field, lab, or related consulting experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Conduct groundwater monitoring and evaluate groundwater data.
• Perform multi-media environmental sampling (soil, groundwater, surface water, air).
• Document sample collection and field conditions accurately.
• Support environmental investigations and remediation projects.
• Travel to sites primarily in Northern and Central Virginia; occasional travel elsewhere.
