Job summary

Apex Companies seeks an Environmental Engineer in Manassas, VA for a hands-on, field-focused role. You’ll work on groundwater monitoring, sampling, remediation, and compliance, with about 80% field time and the rest on documentation and data analysis.

You’ll engage with utilities, municipalities, and private clients, travel regionally, and leverage GIS/CAD tools to support environmental projects. Join a growing, multidisciplinary team with broad project exposure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Relevant environmental consulting/field experience preferred.
• Ability to perform field work in various weather conditions.
• Strong documentation of field activities and data.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites.
• HAZWOPER certification ability to obtain.
• Experience with groundwater modeling, GIS, or CAD is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct groundwater monitoring and evaluate groundwater data.
• Perform multi-media environmental sampling (soil, groundwater, surface water, air).
• Document field conditions and sampling procedures during field tests.
• Support environmental investigations and remediation projects.
• Operate and maintain remediation systems.
• Perform stormwater and sediment control inspections.
• Assist with data evaluation, reporting, and project deliverables.
• Use GIS and CAD tools to support projects when applicable.
• Travel throughout Northern and Central Virginia and occasionally to other locations.
