LAUKOA seeks an Environmental Monitor for a large government project along the U.S./Mexico border. The role involves field data collection, surveys for listed species, and documenting environmental BMPs with photographs.

The ideal candidate has 2 years of monitoring experience, a BS in biological sciences, and the ability to work in diverse weather while traveling to field sites. Competitive benefits apply.

Qualifications

• 2 years of environmental monitoring experience.
• BS in biological sciences or related field.
• Experience on construction sites and field data collection is preferred.
• Ability to work in varied weather and field conditions; in-field every weekday for a year.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily environmental field notes with photos documenting compliance with BMPs.
• Collect project data and support surveys for listed species; document non-compliance and report.
• Conduct pre-construction surveys for nesting birds and listed plants/wildlife as needed.
• Communicate effectively with construction crews, Government, regulators, and stakeholders.
