Job summary

LAUKOA is seeking an experienced Environmental Monitor for a dedicated project along the U.S./Mexico International Border. The role focuses on field observation, data recording, and ensuring compliance with environmental best practices on a large government program.

The ideal candidate has 2 years of monitoring experience, a BS in biological sciences, and the ability to work in varied weather conditions, often in the field daily for a year. Strong communication and independence are essential.

Qualifications

• :- 2 years of environmental monitoring experience.
• - BS in biological sciences or related field.
• - Prior environmental monitoring at construction sites.
• - Ability to work in inclement weather and uneven terrain.
• - Strong written/verbal communication and data reporting skills.
• - Plant identification knowledge along U.S.-Mexico border.
• - Must pass background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily environmental field notes with photographs documenting compliance with project BMPs.
• Collect project-related data, supporting surveys for listed species and report non-compliance to the Government Point of Contact.
• Conduct pre-construction surveys for nesting birds and protected plants/wildlife as needed.
• Communicate effectively with project personnel, Government, regulators, and stakeholders.
