Job summary

AECOM is actively seeking a motivated Geologist to support the Environmental business line, primarily on Federal projects. Responsibilities include field sampling of soils, groundwater, and water, supervising subcontractors, and preparing data and reports.

Travel to various US job sites is required, with a focus on hazard recognition and environmental remediation. The ideal candidate holds a geology-related degree with 4+ years of experience, a valid U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology or related field + 4 years of relevant experience or equivalent
• Valid U.S. driver’s license; background check required
• U.S. citizenship required and able to pass security/background checks
• Candidate must meet OSHA HAZWOPER medical surveillance requirements
• Preferred: Master’s degree in geology or related field; professional registration in progress

Responsibilities

• Develop solutions for technical problems within limited scope using basic scientific principles
• Collect and prepare soil, groundwater, soil vapor, and water samples; maintain chain of custody
• Supervise subcontractors and field staff; coordinate with project managers
• Prepare basic data and scientific documents; perform field tasks independently
• Travel to multiple job sites across the United States and support environmental investigations
