Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking a Mid-Level Environmental Geologist or Scientist to join our field team based in Germantown, MD, with site work primarily in Frederick, Carroll and Baltimore counties. The role requires U.S. citizenship due to project requirements.

The position supports environmental assessment and remediation projects, including due diligence, report preparation, and field activities. Travel is substantial (about 75%).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in geology or environmental science required.
• 3–5 years related experience in environmental assessment/remediation preferred.
• Willingness to perform field work ~75%.
• HazWoper certification preferred; able to obtain within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supporting technical roles for projects.
• Record field data, write reports, generate figures and tables, manage data.
• Perform Phase I and II ESAs.
• Conduct environmental due diligence and investigations at CERCLA, RCRA, and other sites.
• Collect soil and water samples using various techniques.
• Plan and coordinate with subcontractors and field personnel.
• Support proposals and marketing efforts.
• Work safely and report health and safety incidents.
