Job summary

Kinetik in Pecos, TX is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to help ensure regulatory compliance across gas plants, compressor stations, and gathering systems. You will support operations, manage environmental programs, and communicate updates to leadership.

The role requires problem solving, strong written and verbal communication, and the ability to work independently in field conditions, with a valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the region.

Qualifications

• 2 years of oil and gas operations, maintenance or EHS experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with safe driving record.
• Ability to understand and follow directions.
• Maintain discretion and confidentiality.
• Good time management and organizational skills.
• Computer knowledge (MS Office).
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental study or engineering (preferred).
• Experience and certification in Optical Gas Imaging (OGI) and other gas detection methods (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist management, operations, and project/maintenance teams to ensure compliance with environmental rules and regulations.
• Organize, plan, implement, and audit environmental programs and policies.
• Assist with monitoring and recordkeeping to ensure permit compliance.
• Assist with waste and remediation activities and regulatory reporting.
• Oversee third party remediation crews for safety and method compliance.
• Review MOC’s for environmental impacts and assist permitting processes when required.
• Ensure SPCC compliance and support spill response activities and reporting.
• Report releases to agencies and internal personnel as required.
• Serve as point of contact for LDAR and remediation contractors.
• Assist with compliance audits and resolution of findings.
• Maintain working knowledge of applicable regulations affecting plants and sites.
• Provide updates to Director of Environmental Compliance for operations management meetings.
• Learn operating principles of natural gas compression and processing facilities.
• Work independently and make decisions on leak repair and remediation.
• Provide EHS orientations and training at monthly safety meetings.
• Maintain environmental and safety equipment inventory and 4-gas monitor program.
