Job summary

The City of Goodyear Economic Development is seeking an Environmental Compliance Inspector to support inspections, data collection, and regulatory compliance at City facilities in Goodyear, AZ.

Ideal candidate will have 3+ years in a related field, knowledge of environmental permits, and proficiency with Microsoft Office, EAM (Lucity), and GIS tools. This role emphasizes collaboration with City departments and contractors.

Qualifications

• Formal Education/Knowledge: Four years of high school or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of related field experience.
• Certifications: Arizona Operator’s Driver’s License; NPDES/MS4 Compliance Inspector Certification within six months; 24-Hour HAZWOPER within twelve months.
• Reading: Synthesizes information, researches data, designs workflows.

Responsibilities

• Conduct environmental compliance inspections, assessments, and monitoring at City facilities to evaluate regulations and policies.
• Develop working knowledge of permits and program requirements including stormwater, air quality, hazardous materials, and other programs.
• Collect and maintain environmental compliance data, records, photos, and documentation for reporting and records management.
• Respond to environmental complaints and investigate potential concerns, supporting corrective actions.
