Job summary

The City of Goodyear is seeking a Support Services Manager to lead the Development Services Department's administrative and permitting operations. You will oversee budgeting, financial practices, records, and customer service while coordinating with Building Safety, Planning and Zoning, and Code Compliance.

Ideal candidates will have permitting experience, strong cross-divisional communication, and the ability to set clear service standards, improve tools, and report performance to leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
• Minimum three years of related field experience.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Ability to read and interpret budget reports and policy documents.
• Experience with permitting and municipal development review processes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees permitting, plan review routing, inspections coordination, and fee collection.
• Manages daily operations of the development services division.
• Sets service standards and ensures timely handoffs across divisions.
• Prepares and manages departmental budget and financial reporting.
• Coaches and develops staff; conducts performance evaluations.
• Partners with Finance and IT and maintains performance metrics.
• Ensures excellent customer service and records management.
• Provides leadership support to the Director on special projects.
