Job summary

Town of Gilbert seeks an Environmental Compliance Inspection Technician to safeguard Gilbert's air, water and land. You will inspect facilities for compliance, draft enforcement actions when needed, and translate complex regulations into clear guidance for Town departments, consultants, and the public.

The candidate will have an associate degree or equivalent, 2 years in environmental programs, and the ability to obtain MS4 Certification within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or two-year certificate required.
• 2 years of experience in environmental programs.
• MS4 Certification within 6 months of hire.
• Valid Arizona Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Inspect public and private facilities for air quality, storm water, and hazardous materials compliance, drafting enforcement actions when needed.
• Analyze new and proposed environmental regulations to determine impact and provide clear direction to departments.
• Develop and review compliance programs, plans and corrective action strategies.
• Provide oversight for consultant field activities and represent Town at regulatory meetings.
• Deliver public outreach, education, and training on environmental compliance.
