Job summary

WestLand is seeking a full-time Environmental Compliance Inspector to join the Tucson team. You will monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to environmental regulations, permit requirements, and project-specific plans, conducting site inspections and documenting findings.

You will communicate with crews and management, prepare inspection logs and reports, and assist with biological surveys as needed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
• Experience in environmental inspection, compliance monitoring, or field work.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily inspections of construction activities to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permit conditions.
• Monitor erosion, sediment control measures, spill prevention and other environmental protection practices.
• Document inspection findings with photos and reports; communicate results to project management.
• Advise crews on corrective actions to address environmental compliance issues.
• Coordinate with management, contractors and regulators on compliance matters.
• Maintain accurate inspection logs and documentation; report incidents promptly.
• Support environmental training for crews as needed.
• Handle, store, and dispose of hazardous materials properly on site.
• Assist in preparing final environmental compliance reports for project closeout.
• Participate in biological field surveys as needed.
