This position reports to:

Field Service Manager

Key Responsibilities

1. Perform installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and repair of ABB Medium Voltage (MV) Variable Frequency Drives (VFD).
2. Work with the customer (while on-site) to identify opportunities to improve their operations and eliminate pain points.
3. Prepare material lists needed for service activities and ensure all materials, parts, and equipment are available and of appropriate quality.
4. Communicate effectively and present information to top management, customers, vendors, and other employees.
5. Submit detailed and comprehensive service reports in a timely manner and follow up when needed.
6. Act as a trainer when needed for field service associates and customers.

Qualifications

• Associate degree with 1 year of relevant experience, or high school diploma/GED with 3 years of relevant experience, or a combination of 3 years of military education/experience. Bachelor's degree in engineering or a technical field is preferred but not required.
• Previous experience in installing, testing, repairing, or troubleshooting AC/DC drive systems and their controls.
• Ability to interpret circuit diagrams, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, technical manuals, and specifications.
• Ability to travel up to 80% and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Willing to provide technical support during evenings and weekends on a rotating schedule.
• Must have work authorization to work for ABB in the United States.
