Associate Field Service Engineering Technician

Objective: This role involves professional and responsive field service, planned maintenance, and installation of surgical equipment manufactured and distributed by Bausch + Lomb.

Responsibilities
  • Provide first-tier service response to B+L Surgical customers, including scheduled maintenance and site planning for new system installations. Support or perform equipment installations as needed.
  • Coordinate with service personnel, including Technical Support, Customer Service, Parts/Planning, and Service Engineering, to ensure timely repairs. Maintain positive relationships with the Commercial Sales team in your territory.
  • Promote service agreements by communicating benefits and educating customers, interfacing with both customers and internal service teams.
  • Follow all administrative policies related to field repair and service, including reports and training documentation.
  • Escalate customer issues appropriately to ensure timely resolution.
  • Maintain company assets such as parts inventory and test equipment.
  • Develop industry knowledge in ophthalmic terminology, procedures, and technology to support B+L products and customers.
  • Contribute proactive suggestions for improving technical and field service operations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Training
  • Associate degree or higher in electronics, technical school, military training, or equivalent experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electronics preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, electronic and mechanical aptitude.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Team player with a collaborative approach to customer satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of ServiceMax, Salesforce, laser systems, optics, and computer networking preferred.
  • Experience in repairing sophisticated electronic and mechanical products and customer service.

Medical Device Field Service Experience is highly preferred.

This position is available remotely in the US. The role offers a starting pay between $31.00 - $38.00 per hour, with potential incentives and benefits including health insurance, 401(k), tuition reimbursement, and paid time off.
