The State of Arizona is seeking a Transportation Engineering Specialist to join their innovative and diverse team. Job Duties:
- Review plans, specifications, and bid schedules to ensure constructibility, biddability, and awardability
- Verify quantity take-offs and unit prices to estimate construction costs and confirm project budget
- Attend project progress meetings and collaborate with stakeholders to finalize highway projects
- Collect and compile construction bidding documents and review them for accuracy and deficiencies
- Prepare, research, and write special provisions for project needs not covered in standard specifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
- Knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices
- Proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Google Suite, and Excel
- Familiarity with federal and state statutes and agency standards
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to analyze and evaluate engineering data and make independent decisions
Selective Preferences:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Two years of experience in highway construction or design
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) registration or completion of ADOT EIT program
Additional Information:
- This position requires a valid Arizona Class D Driver License
