Job summary

Kiewit invites motivated students to join its field internship program to gain hands-on experience in construction management and on-site engineering activities. You will participate in planning, scheduling, cost control, material procurement and contract administration across diverse projects.

Eligible students are pursuing civil engineering or construction management degrees, enrolled in listed universities with the Kiewit Scholars Program.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergrad or graduate degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field.
• Currently enrolled at Colorado School of Mines, Iowa State University, Purdue University, University of Colorado-Boulder, or University of Nebraska-Lincoln and part of the Kiewit Scholars Program.
• Willingness to travel/relocate as needed, and to work full-time during the summer.

Responsibilities

• Field engineering, operation planning, cost control, project scheduling, quantity tracking, material procurement, contract administration and supervision of field activities.
• Perform engineering tasks using standard techniques and handle minor technical problems on site.
• Maintain records of job progress, costs and material usage.
• Plan and schedule job segments, review plans and specs for materials and pricing.
• Work with suppliers to expedite delivery of materials.
