Qualifications

• Travel or relocate as needed.
• Full-time during summer (May–August).
• Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in civil engineering, construction management or related.
• Enrolled at Colorado School of Mines, Iowa State University, Purdue University, University of Colorado-Boulder, or University of Nebraska-Lincoln and member of the Kiewit Scholars Program.
• Must have access to construction sites in varying climates/environments.
• Demonstrated initiative, strong work ethic and ethics.

Responsibilities

• Field engineering, operation planning, cost control, project scheduling, quantity tracking, material procurement, contract administration, and supervision of field activities.
• Perform engineering tasks using standard techniques and solve minor construction problems.
• Maintain records on job progress, costs, materials usage, etc.
• Plan and schedule jobs or job segments.
• Investigate problems and propose solutions.
• Review plans and specifications for material requirements and pricing.
• Coordinate with suppliers to expedite material delivery.
