Job summary

Kiewit is seeking Engineer Interns for its Summer 2027 Intern Program in the Eastern District. The role offers hands-on learning across construction management, field engineering, and project planning with relocation as needed.

Interns will participate in diverse heavy civil projects and gain exposure to bridge, tunnel, and energy work. Qualifications include pursuing a civil/related engineering degree and strong communication, ethics, and safety mindset.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in civil/elec engineering or construction management.
• Demonstrated ethics and integrity in academic or project work.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities for field and office collaboration.
• Willingness to travel/relocate as project needs require.
• Commitment to safety and ability to work in diverse field environments.

Responsibilities

• Field engineering, operation planning, cost control, project scheduling, quantity tracking, material procurement, contract administration, and supervision of field activities.
• Perform engineering tasks using standard techniques and resolve minor technical issues on site.
• Maintain records of job progress, costs, material usage, and project metrics.
• Plan and schedule job segments and coordinate with suppliers for timely material delivery.
• Review plans/specifications to determine material requirements and pricing.
• Assist with estimating and project administration as needed.
• Collaborate with teams to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
