Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Field Engineer to own rotating equipment integration from specs to commissioning across gas turbines, steam turbines, and HRSGs. You will troubleshoot in the field, support FATs, and coordinate with OEMs and EPCs to ensure constructible, compliant designs.

Expect travel to factories and sites as needed. BS in Mechanical Engineering with 2+ years in utility-scale rotating equipment is required; experience with turbine assemblies, vibration testing, and mechanical interfaces is

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years with utility-scale rotating equipment incl. gas/steam turbines and HRSGs.

Responsibilities

• Develop specs for gas turbines, steam turbines, HRSGs and auxiliaries.
• Lead technical evaluation of OEM proposals and equipment selection.
• Own mechanical interface management between turbine, generator, HRSG and BOP.
• Review OEM drawings, GA layouts, and P&IDs for compliance.
• Support foundation/structural design and dynamic loading criteria.
• Coordinate with EPC and OEM to resolve interface issues pre-field.
• Participate in FAT and support commissioning and startup activities.
• Develop spare parts strategy and critical rotating equipment spares.
• Travel to OEM factories, shops, and construction sites as needed.
