Field Engineer - Power Plant Rotating Equipment

Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Field Engineer (GAS/STEAM TURBINES) to own the rotating equipment integration from specification to commissioning. You will work across gas turbines, steam turbines, and HRSGs, building the power plant, leading commissioning in the control room, and conducting field troubleshooting.

The role involves on-site collaboration with EPC and OEM teams, FAT participation, and travel to factories and construction sites as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of experience with utility-scale rotating equipment.
• Experience evaluating OEM proposals and equipment selection.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical specs for gas turbines, steam turbines, HRSGs and auxiliaries.
• Lead technical bid evaluation and equipment selection recommendations.
• Own mechanical interface management between major equipment packages.
• Review OEM drawings, GA layouts, and P&IDs for compliance and constructibility.
• Support foundation and structural design coordination with civil/structural teams.
• Travel to OEM factories, fabrication shops, and construction sites as needed.
