Position Overview

The Senior Field Engineer will conduct on-site evaluations of electrical equipment for compliance with safety standards such as UL, NFPA, CSA, and ANSI. The role involves reviewing construction and engineering aspects across various industries, with 100% travel expected, primarily within the lower 48 states, requiring a valid passport.

Responsibilities

• Perform Field Evaluations under Eurofins' labeling program
• Review scope of work and coordinate travel arrangements
• Communicate with clients, authorities, and contractors
• Identify applicable codes and standards
• Review manuals, schematics, BOMs, and site procedures
• Document construction details and non-conformances
• Assess compliance with UL, NFPA, CSA, or ANSI standards
• Determine equipment eligibility for labeling and finalize reports
• Manage expenses and documentation for billing
• Meet billing goals and project deadlines
• Build client relationships and promote services

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
• Experience with a recognized testing laboratory (NRTL or FEB)
• Knowledge of UL 508A, UL 61010-1, UL 73, NFPA 70, NFPA 79 standards
• Experience with hazardous location and CSA standards is a plus
• Strong technical writing and Microsoft Office skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in elevated/confined spaces and lift 30+ pounds
• Solid electrical background and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and with diverse populations

• Salary Range: $110,000 - $150,000/year
