Position Overview

As a Senior Field Engineer, you will conduct on-site evaluations of electrical equipment for compliance with regulatory safety standards (UL, NFPA, CSA, ANSI, etc.). The role involves construction and engineering review across various industries, with 100% travel required, primarily within the lower 48 states, though international travel may be necessary. A valid passport is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform Field Evaluations under Eurofins E&E North America/MET Labs Field Labeling program.
• Review scope of work, coordinate travel, and communicate with clients and relevant authorities.
• Identify applicable codes and standards, review technical documents, and document findings.
• Assess compliance, determine equipment eligibility for labeling, and prepare final reports.
• Manage expenses and documentation for billing, meet billing goals, and adhere to project deadlines.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, promoting company services.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred or equivalent experience.
• Direct Field Engineering experience with a recognized testing laboratory or evaluation body.
• Knowledge of UL 508A, UL 61010-1, UL 73, NFPA 70, NFPA 79 standards; experience with hazardous locations and CSA standards is a plus.
• Strong technical writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in elevated/confined spaces, lift 30+ pounds, and work independently.
• Electrical systems expertise and problem-solving skills.

• Position is fully remote; proximity to a major airport required.
• Salary range: $110,000 - $150,000/year.
