POSITION

As a Senior Field Engineer, you will conduct on-site evaluations of electrical equipment for compliance with regulatory safety standards (UL, NFPA, CSA, ANSI, etc.). You will review construction and engineering of electrical equipment across various industries (manufacturing, lab, medical, commercial, retail, food service, etc.). The role requires 100% travel, primarily within the lower 48 states, with both domestic and international travel possible (passport required or ability to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Perform Field Evaluations under Eurofins E&E North America/MET Labs program
• Review scope of work and plan travel accordingly
• Coordinate travel arrangements
• Communicate with clients, authorities, contractors, and relevant parties
• Identify applicable national codes and standards
• Review manuals, schematics, BOMs, site procedures, data sheets, etc.
• Document construction details and non-conformances
• Assess compliance with UL, NFPA, CSA, or ANSI standards
• Determine equipment eligibility for labeling and finalize reports
• Manage expenses and documentation for billing
• Meet or exceed billing goals and project deadlines
• Build relationships with clients and promote services

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
• Field Engineering experience with a recognized testing laboratory (NRTL or FEB)
• Experience with UL 508A, UL 61010-1, UL 73, NFPA 70, NFPA 79 standards
• Knowledge of Hazardous Location and CSA standards is a plus
• Strong technical writing and Microsoft Office skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in elevated/confined spaces and lift 30+ pounds
• Strong electrical background and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and with diverse populations
