Position Overview

As a Senior Field Engineer, you will conduct on-site evaluations of electrical equipment for compliance with regulatory safety standards (UL, NFPA, CSA, ANSI, etc.). This role involves reviewing construction and engineering aspects of electrical equipment across various industries, with 100% travel required, primarily within the lower 48 states. A valid passport or the ability to obtain one is necessary.

Responsibilities

• Perform field evaluations under Eurofins E&E North America/MET Labs programs
• Review scope of work and coordinate travel arrangements
• Communicate effectively with clients, authorities having jurisdiction, contractors, and other stakeholders
• Identify applicable national codes and standards
• Review manuals, schematics, BOMs, site procedures, and data sheets
• Document construction details and non-conformances
• Assess compliance with UL, NFPA, CSA, or ANSI standards
• Determine equipment eligibility for labeling and prepare final reports
• Manage expenses and documentation for billing
• Meet billing goals and project deadlines
• Build relationships with clients and promote company services

Candidate Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
• Direct field engineering experience with a recognized testing laboratory (NRTL or FEB)
• Knowledge of UL 508A, UL 61010-1, UL 73, NFPA 70, NFPA 79 standards
• Experience with hazardous locations and CSA standards is a plus
• Strong technical writing and Microsoft Office skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in elevated/confined spaces and lift 30+ pounds
• Solid electrical background and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and with diverse populations

Additional Details

This is a remote position, requiring proximity to a major airport. Salary ranges from $110,000 to $150,000 annually.
