Job summary

Kiewit is seeking an Entry Level Field Engineer in Houston to contribute to energy infrastructure projects on active sites. You will join a safety-focused team delivering high-quality construction across power generation, including solar fields and traditional plants.

Responsibilities include planning, estimating, scheduling, and coordinating with craft teams, subcontractors, and vendors while adhering to safety standards. Expect travel and relocation as needed for project success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or engineering field or equivalent experience.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Knowledge of construction safety and OSHA standards.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and owner specifications.
• Familiarity with scheduling and cost control techniques.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with industry tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a dynamic team to build, estimate, and schedule mechanical, electrical, and heavy industrial construction projects.
• Prepare detailed work plans and schedules to guide project execution.
• Ensure quality control, manage and track costs, purchase and manage materials, and maintain schedule and equipment logistics.
• Administer safety programs in line with the company's safety philosophy.
• Foster and maintain relationships with owners and stakeholders.
• Support administrative and field operations: review drawings/specs, perform material takeoffs, and prepare cost estimates.
• Supervise subcontractors, coordinate with vendors, and uphold construction standards.
