Job summary

Kiewit is seeking an entry-level Field Engineer to join the Power Market and support a variety of construction projects nationwide. You will collaborate on estimating, planning, safety programs, and coordination with owners and subcontractors to help deliver critical energy infrastructure.

Ideal candidates have degrees in engineering or construction management and are ready to travel and grow their skills on major EPC and solar projects across the United States.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Must be legally authorized to work without sponsorship.
• Knowledge of construction safety and OSHA standards.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and owner specifications.
• Familiarity with project scheduling and cost control techniques.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Hard Dollar, Revit, SAP, ProLog or Primavera P6 is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to relocate and travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a dynamic team to build, estimate, and schedule mechanical, electrical, and heavy industrial construction projects.
• Prepare detailed work plans and schedules to guide project execution.
• Ensure quality control, manage and track costs, purchase and manage materials, and maintain schedule and equipment logistics.
• Administer safety programs with the company’s safety philosophy.
• Foster and maintain relationships with owners and stakeholders.
• Support administrative and field operations: review drawings/specs, perform material takeoffs, and prepare cost estimates.
• Supervise subcontractors, coordinate with vendors, and uphold high construction standards.
