Job summary

Electric Power Systems, Inc. seeks an Engineer Technician II or III for fieldwork and office duties in Anchorage, AK. You will lay out, stake, and document distribution extensions and improvements for Matanuska Electric Association, coordinating with several departments and ensuring standards compliance.

This role requires NEC knowledge, blueprint interpretation, and the ability to travel and work in rugged terrain. Strong organizational skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to interpret building plans, blueprints, and line schematics.
• Experience in surveying, design of distribution routes, line extensions, and cost estimation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Engineering Coordinators, Member Relations, Operations, and Finance on close-out information.
• Prepare permits and land services documentation with Land Services Section.
• Prepare cost estimates for line extensions and services.
• Create work orders, staking sheets, drawings, and closeout documents.
• Use sag charts and staking tables to determine clearances and pulling tension.
• Perform field staking for line extensions and provide as-built information.
• Inspect meter bases and service entrance equipment for standards compliance.
• Work safely and efficiently.
